DAY ONE: A PREVIEW OF WHAT'S TO COME???

When you arrive at the mountain on a day that you thought might be your only sunny day to find it snowing hard, it is difficult to complain. Today began EARLY! We were all up by 6:15 and waiting in line for breakfast by 6:55. Then it was a quick change into ski gear and on to the shuttle for a festive first ride to the BIG ONE, Rendezvous Mountain!

Many of the kids took lessons today, and the conditions were outstanding. There were about 4-6 inches of new snow as of 9am, and the flakes continued to fly throughout the day. There was some brief clearing at times, as snow showers passed, but the predominant weather feature today was the POW POW.

Based on the forecast, this looks to be but a taste of what's to come tomorrow, tomorrow night, and Sunday. They are calling for up to a foot of new snow, with more in the higher elevations. If this holds true, your kids are going to get a taste of some CRAZY powder skiing! I sure hope it happens. If so, this would make two years straight that we have been blessed with incredible conditions throughout our trip. How lucky are KCD kids? Well, I think you guys all know the answer to that one.

Wish us luck tomorrow! More pics and news coming soon...
